Jumbo Seafood: A Chinese Seafood Dining Experience in Newton, MA

The coconut chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had and has me thinking about it ever since. The Lobster fried sticky rice and the others were also super yummy. Will definitely go back when I’m in the area again.

I came here with my family and got to try a lot of things! Most dishes were above average. The salt and pepper calamari was particularly good, so we would definitely try more salt and pepper dishes next time. The Sichuan boiled fish fillet was also good. The lobster with vermicelli was pretty tasty, but we would want to try the ginger scallion lobster next time for the bolder flavors. We were also sitting next to the lobster/fish tank, and it didn't seem that clean.. The dungeness crab with sticky rice was quite bland, unfortunately. The shrimp with snow peas was decent but nothing special. Overall we would probably choose items that have stronger flavors next time. The menu is huge, so there's a lot left to try!

Duck was amazing . Next time I want to get more authentic Chinese dishes. I saw some things on the menu that look appealing for next time.

Ding’s Kitchen is one of my go to Chinese restaurants in the Newton area. They offer hotpot, traditional Chinese food and dim sum (during lunch). The staff is attentive and friendly. I come once every other month with my in laws and we never had a bad time. I would recommend checking them out for all three of their unique services. You won’t be disappointed

Ding’s Kitchen is truly a hidden gem in Newton, MA. The food is the star here—everything from the dumplings and scallion pancakes to the Peking duck and tender beef is packed with flavor and consistently well executed. Each dish tastes fresh, comforting, and thoughtfully prepared. The only area with room for improvement is the service. While the staff is friendly, they can be a bit more attentive at times, as they occasionally seem more focused on their phones or chatting with each other than checking in on tables. Still, the quality of the food makes Ding’s Kitchen absolutely worth a visit, and I’d happily return for another meal.

Ding's Kitchen took over Jumbo Seafood, still offer similar things, such as dim sum and an authentic Chinese menu. The offerings seemed more authentic, and definitely targeted more toward traditional Chinese patrons. For example, one of the soup offering as signature item is an chicken and pig intestines stew. Overall, food was decent, and authentic. Some of the misses: pam fries pork dumplings. Meat filling was very little, and skin was thick. Flavor was ok, but just not worth the price. We ordered rice, but they never sent them. The waitress was very nice and friendly, so service was not an issue. I would return for the more 'traditional' offerings.

When you walk into an Asian restaurant that's full of Asians you know the food has to be really good and authentic! The beef low mein was pretty yummy and had tender large strips of beef and they didn't skimp on the meat. Great service and the waiters were polite.

Drove 45min to try Ding’s Kitchen and it didn’t disappoint. Ordered Peking duck, salt and pepper Dungeness crab, stir fried lobster with glutenous fried rice, salt and pepper calamari, and dim sum. Decided to order a couple more entrees to go for dinner tonight. That’s how good it is! Very authentic and flavorful. Will definitely be back!
